Inheritance Determination

A large majority of our practice involves the probate and administration of German estates for our clients. This area of our practice demands confidence from our clients and the utmost responsibility as we handle estate property and other matters for clients throughout the world. Many of our clients do not ever have the opportunity to meet us in person, but rely on our professionalism and our ability to provide them with the services neccessary for the handling of their estate here in Germany.

Our services for estates include the following:

• Determining the indentity and location of all heirs of the estate;
• Preparation of all documents that are necessary for proving the succession of the estate;
• Preparation of all documents that provide a record of succession of the estate;
• Preparation and filing of all documents associated with any German inheritance taxes for the estate;
• Payment from estate funds of all German inheritance taxes for the estate;
• Distribution of all estate assets to the heirs of the estate after all German inheritance taxes, legal fees and expenses have been paid.

While our fee depends on the extent of the estate and the difficulties associated with the handling of said estate, our fee normally ranges from 15 to 30 percent of the gross value of the estate before deduction of any an all inheritance taxes and legal value added taxes. We do not require any advance for expenses or costs associated with the estate, and we do not receive our fee and reimbursement of all expenses and costs until the final distribution of all estate assets. Until this time, we bear all expenses and time for our work, without any financial risk to you.

As an additional service, our firm can assist you with administering your property here in Germany, and you will have the benefit of our special knowledge of the real estate and trade market.
